Marek Tymiński, CEO of CI Games, has just exposed how Reddit moderators have hijacked the Lords of the Fallen subreddit, r/LordsoftheFallen, branding him a “fascist” simply for daring to listen to his players, and ask for feedback on his game.
In yet another demonstration of Reddit's rapidly growing lunatic-left-wing authoritarianism, the subreddit’s mods have now taken some extreme measures to shut down any discussion that didn’t align with their ideological echo-chamber of a bubble.
Their latest meltdown was triggered when Tymiński made a simple post on X asking the community if they preferred a traditional character creation option—something he posts about from time to time on his X platform to gauge player interest.
Choosing between “Male” and “Female”—rather than the generic “Body Type A” and “Body Type B.” Unsurprisingly, the vast majority of players out there obviously voted for the change back to m/f, but rather than accept the will of the player base, Reddit mods went absolutely nuclear.
The Culture War Hits Lords of the Fallen
Instead of acknowledging that gamers want clearer, more traditional character options, without any kind o DEI injected into their gaming experience, the moderators of r/LordsoftheFallen immediately framed this as a far-right conspiracy... because, of course they did...
They declared that Tymiński was “boosting anti-progressive and racist/transphobic posts” and accused him of pushing a “politically motivated agenda.” The classic tactic to try to deplatform anyone that opposes their woke ideology. This unhinged response wasn’t just about a simple in-game UI change—it was directly attempting to control the narrative and gatekeep what opinions are allowed in gaming spaces.
The mods didn’t stop at just labeling the CEO a “fascist” because that would be to simple. Nah. They also took drastic actions to lock down the subreddit and censor any further discussion:
Banning all direct links to X (Twitter), Facebook, and Instagram, claiming these platforms “enable fascism.”
Removing all CI Games and Hexworks officials from the mod team, despite admitting they were “honourable and decent individuals.”
Declaring an increase in “hate speech” and using it as justification for stricter moderation.
Pushing users toward Bluesky, a left-wing alternative to Twitter, as the “better” platform.
I swear I couldn't make this up if I tried. It's beyond parody at this point...
The Reddit Moderator Mindset
These actions reflect a growing trend of many extremist Reddit mods weaponizing their 'online internet powers' to silence any and all dissent. They outright admit that their motivation is ideological, saying, “People are feeling emboldened on their culture war stuff since Trump got in.” The fact that they’re still seething about Trump’s influence, years after his presidency, tells me everything we need to know about their 'worldview'.
Rather than moderating fairly, they’ve turned the Lords of the Fallen subreddit into a political echo chamber. They claim to be protecting the community from “misinformation” and “incitement of violence,” but in reality, they’re just banning any conversation that challenges their progressive orthodoxy.
Reddit Mods vs. Reality
The real irony? This so-called "fascist" CEO was merely following the wishes of his own player base. I've had some personal DM conversations with Marek on X over the past few months and he's always struck me as for the gamers and extremely sincere. Not trying to use it as some sort of trojan horse to get additional sales. This alone explains why the Mods on Reddit hate him so much. They know he's authentic... and that scares the shit out of them.
The in-game changes aren't dictated from the top—it was voted on by tens of thousands of gamers. But according to these lunatic Reddit mods, democracy is only valid... when it aligns with their worldview. Funny how that works.
This entire situation highlights once again how Reddit has become an increasingly hostile place for any kind of real free speech and open discussion. Moderators, who are often unaccountable and completely unhinged, have zero problems with seizing control of communities and pushing their own agendas.
The Takeaway
If you’re a Lords of the Fallen player, be aware: r/LordsoftheFallen is compromised. If you're not, I'd encourage everyone to check the game out and see if it's one you might enjoy. I'm all about promoting any and all developers that are AUTHENTIC to the gamers and Marek strikes me as just that. The subreddit itself has lost the plot, and is no longer about discussing the game—it’s about enforcing leftist politics and attacking anyone who steps out of line.
Tymiński, on the other hand, has proven himself to me to be one of the rare game industry CEOs willing to stand up for us. While the Reddit mods rant about “fascism,” the actual gamers out there are enjoying a game that respects their preferences.
As for Reddit? This is just another reminder of why its credibility is circling the drain.
