Crazed Sweet Baby Inc. Employee Says Their Goal Is “Burning the Games Industry to the Ground”

Shoutout to Kirsche for the find on this near year-old video - and ThatParkPlace for the heads up! Wow - was it eye-opening! In a BEYOND shocking admission during the Game Devs of Color Expo, a crazed Sweet Baby Inc. employee by the name "Camerin Wild", who identifies as non-binary (shocker), revealed a controversial and troubling agenda: to "burn the games industry to the ground", among other insane thoughts. The video was titled "How to Get Away With Murder Subverting Genre Expectations" - I mean... wait - what?

With the last name so aptly named 'Wild', I almost wonder if they call themselves this ironically, as you'll see...

Wild, works at Sweet Baby Inc. with the made-up job title of "narrative designer" and is a sensitivity reader for Sweet Baby Inc. - They've worked on major titles such as Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Alan Wake II, The Crew: Motorfest, and even God of War: Ragnarök... and yes, of course he(?) has a nose-ring...

In the presentation, Wild made bold statements about the power of storytelling, claiming that the stories told in video games serve not just as 'entertainment' but as a means to push debate and reshape collective values. A little more than what CEO Kim Belair seems to let on whenever she chats about what they do and how they simply just 'suggest' stuff. One slide revealed their ultimate goal: “Burning the games industry to the ground.” This is not a vague metaphor—Wild’s intent is clear here, signaling an insanely radical approach to changing the industry by upending its current structure.

The talk quickly took a controversial turn when Wild emphasized their belief that the best stories in gaming are told from a place where “whiteness doesn’t have to live" and looking at the games that they've been a part of? Holy shit is it telling... They claimed that discomfort is essential for telling stories, especially in an industry that they feel has historically favored whiteness. Wild argues that "inclusivity" and dismantling this discomfort are necessary for pushing the boundaries of genre storytelling.

What’s even more striking is Wild’s take on Mel Brooks' Blazing Saddles. Describing it as a personal favorite, they praised its humor and social commentary, especially its ability to "offend the right people" by targeting the existing social hierarchy and making fun of whiteness. Wild goes further, using the film to argue that stories that challenge or offend those in positions of power are more important than ever—seemingly drawing a parallel to their approach in games. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say I *THINK Wild misinterpreted the movie... and definitely looked way too far into it.

Wild also launched a scathing critique of Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained, claiming that Tarantino’s attempts at edginess stemmed from “white supremacist patriarchal values.” Wild argued that the film, and by extension Tarantino’s work, should be “critiqued out of existence.” - which is totally something any normal rational human being would think after watching a movie, of course...

According to Wild, stories about Black experiences should not be told by white creators unless they are willing to step aside and let Black voices take the lead. In stark contrast, Wild held Blazing Saddles in higher regard, claiming that it succeeded by collaborating with Black writers to tear down social norms... As if he knows what happened behind the scenes.

Wild’s radical vision for the future of the gaming industry continued as they insisted that “good genre starts with representation on the creative team” and that the identity of characters must define both their challenges and triumphs within a narrative. This framework, Wild pushes onward with, is apparently 'essential for reshaping the industry' and challenging existing power structures in storytelling... Which - is, welp, yeah - you guessed it... an activist hiding in the game industry once again.

Wild’s comments about “burning the games industry to the ground” will undoubtedly cause concern about Sweet Baby Inc on the whole. Coupled with their history of influencing several poorly received titles, including Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, Wild’s declaration highlights the much broader issue of how his ideology is clearly harming the games it touches.

As Sweet Baby Inc. continues to push this f'd agenda, one thing's clear: their influence on the gaming industry is not going to last. Wild’s admissions expose the true intent behind many of the decisions made in recent games, raising serious questions about the direction the industry had been heading. If the goal is to destroy the foundations of gaming as we know it, players and developers alike will find themselves at odds with these ideas as the industry reckons with its future... and that, is all we need to know.
